2025 AOAC SEA 4th Annual Conference

The 4th Annual AOAC SEA Conference will be held at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok, Thailand, on 28–29 October 2025. The conference theme is Advancing Food Safety and Quality: Innovation, Standards, and Collaboration. The Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP) Workshop will follow immediately after, on 30 October 2025.

Building on the success of previous events – including the 2022 inaugural conference on Food Safety: Regulation and Analytical Science, the 2023 conference on Facilitating Compliance for Food Safety and Quality in International Trade, and the 2024 conference on Bringing Together Government, Industry, and Academia to Advance Analytical Excellence for Food Safety this year’s conference will continue to unite dedicated professionals from Southeast Asia and beyond. We expect to attract over 200 delegates, with a diverse mix of public and private sector representatives and academia. The program will feature insightful presentations, engaging discussions, meaningful connections, and valuable collaborations.

AOAC SEA Section

AOAC INTERNATIONAL was founded 141 years ago in Washington, DC as the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists. It is now the Association of Official Analytical Collaboration with a vision of ‘Global alignment for trusted analytical solutions.’ The Southeast Asia Section of AOAC INTERNATIONAL (AOAC SEA) was formed in June 2021, and now encompasses 11 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Thailand and Vietnam.

The aim of AOAC SEA is to bring together government, industry, and academia to establish standard methods of analysis that ensure the safety and integrity of foods and other products that impact public health around the world. Our vision is to be a contributor in developing confidence through consensus based analytical solutions for food safety, food integrity and public health across Southeast Asia countries.

Previous annual conferences were held in Singapore (2022), Vietnam (2023), and the Philippines (2024), each enabling over 200 delegates to attend in-person. In case you missed it, you can still view the 2024 conference program and video on the highlights of the event.

Annual Conference 2025

AOAC SEA is excited to announce the 2025 Student Award Competition! Award winners will be recognized at the prestigious AOAC SEA 4th Annual Conference, taking place on 28-29 October 2025 at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition to receiving this honor, selected students will also have the opportunity to contribute as volunteers and be considered as emerging leaders within the AOAC SEA community.

As the conference theme is Advancing Food Safety and Quality: Innovation, Standards, and Collaboration, works submitted should be among the various areas of food safety, food quality, and analytical science such as:

  • – Adulteration
  • – Contamination
  • – Microbiology
  • – Ingredients
  • – Bioactive substances
  • – Genetic modification
  • – Alternative proteins

* Studies with relations to toxicity on human health or environment, with implications on trade, are also welcome.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • – An abstract of not more than 300 words, including the objective, methodology, results & discussion, conclusion and impact of research (Please see the Application Form for the abstract template).
  • – Supporting documents (eg: Student Identification Card, publications if any, or other related documents).
  • – Proof of registration as Student Member of AOAC SEA (Registration is free).
  • The Application Form must be submitted by 24 August 2025.

 

The AOAC SEA Student Awards Program offers young scientists the chance to gain recognition, receive financial support, and present their work at the AOAC SEA Annual Conference. Winners will be acknowledged through AOAC SEA’s newsletters and social media. The 2025 program will offer benefits comparable to previous years (2022, 2023 & 2024):

  • – Cash awards presented at the conference, along with the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation
  • – E-certificate issued by the AOAC SEA Section
  • – Formal recognition featured on the AOAC SEA Section communication channels
  • – (Optional) Chance to volunteer with the Training of Young Scientists Working Group and grow as an emerging leader in the community

The AOAC Southeast Asia Section (AOAC SEA) warmly invites members and interested individuals to submit proposals for scientific topics and presentations for the 2025 AOAC SEA 4th Annual Conference, to be held on 28–29 October 2025.

Building on the success of previous years and ongoing AOAC SEA initiatives, this year’s conference will center around the theme: “Advancing Food Safety and Quality: Innovation, Standards, and Collaboration.” The Scientific Program Committee will review all submissions and select proposals for inclusion in the conference agenda.

In collaboration with the Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP), we also invite stakeholders to submit training proposals for the APMP Workshop, scheduled for 30 October 2025.

The deadline for proposal submissions is 30 June 2025.
